LAGOS – Her Excellency Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the wife of the Lagos State governor, will be the special guest at the 2022 annual Lagos Waste Forum, an initiative of the SWEEP Foundation
The Lagos Waste Forum promotes innovative waste management solutions, emerging trends in sustainability and a circular economy.
The Lagos Waste Forum will provide a veritable platform for sustainability professionals and other stakeholders to discuss the challenges and the opportunities offered by sustainable urban Waste management to drive our national economy.
In a press statement made available to the media on Thursday, SWEEP Foundation said the Lagos State First Lady promised to be present at the annual Lagos Waste Forum initiative of SWEEP Foundation coming up soon, where seasoned environmental and waste experts meet to discuss the future of sustainable waste management.
The statement signed by Philip Andrew Bethel, the Secretary of SWEEP Foundation, read in full: “It was a wonderful time spent with Her Excellency Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, First Lady Lagos State, to discuss the impact, successes, challenges and opportunities SWEEP Foundation has been faced with in the course of her one year anniversary of the WASTE IN THE CITY project.
“The First Lady was happy with how fast SWEEP Foundation has grown in tackling plastic pollution within Surulere axis of Lagos within the one year of our launch of the WASTE IN THE CITY campaign.
“She encouraged the foundation to do more and once again reassured it of her support and commitment.
“Her Excellency also promised to be present at the annual Lagos Waste Forum initiative of the foundation where seasoned environmental and waste experts meet to discuss the future of sustainable waste management.
“It was indeed a wonderful occasion sharing ideas with her Excellency and listening to her calm motherly voice as she pointed out our shortfalls and praised our wins.
